the pen drop

it makes me laugh everytime i see someone doing the pen drop and on occation i catch myself doing it and stop to laugh at the immaturity of it. So heres what it is: after someone is finished the assigned notes in class they smack their pen or pencil on their notes, as if to say "I'm done everyone". Its so stupid but i think that everyone is in a race to see who can write their notes the fastest and the winner is made by smacking their pencil on the desk. Almost like a runner going through the ribbon at the end of the race. They need to make a big ending. I know that i race with my friend that sit beside me in class... although they dont know it we are constantly at war to see who is the fastest note taker. ( apparently im fast at writing biology notes but slow at taking math ones). Every aspect of ours lives is made a competition. I think that competitivness is a good thing in school. It creates a drive to strive for a higher mark (because you dont want the class bimbo beating you on the assignment). I am a very competitive person and make everything i do into a game to see who is better. Even note taking races are a very serious matter.
