A story that was never finished, but what we wrote and felt is here... reading this will give you a good idea about "The unusuals"

A story of 2 girls lives in a pit of despair.

Prologue

There is a small, grungy, old town known as Blute. Towards the outskirts of the small town was J.J Thompson School. J.J.T.S was a combination of elementary and high school grades. It was a rundown pitiful school but it worked for the surrounding area. Most of the students had known each other since E.C.S form either Irricana or Kathryn then later on in other grades they collided and became one. There have been many hardships, fallouts, and achievement shared throughout the class. Along the way of course they’re have been new students who have joined and there have been many lost to another school along the way.

The teachers at JJ Thompson were well…pretty pathetic. There were a few and I mean a very small few good ones like Mr. Shaw, Mr. Wilson and of course Mrs. Stevens. All the rest are dickwads and have no clue what they’re talking about 98% of the time. The secretary is the scariest person alive … Mrs. Rozz. You don’t want to tick her off or she will come after you with her cane and then if you’re really misfortunate she will drag you by your earlobe to where you’re supposed to be.

The lives of J.J. Thompson are just more pages to our long and involved lives together.

The Boring Beginning.

After the long weekend, which seemed short to Willow, she was back to school. The morning getting ready for the upcoming boring school day was coincidently boring as well. She had a shower at 6:50 and was out and ready for the hairdryer at 7:02. Her hair was short which made it all the more easier and faster to dry. Next was breakfast and everything else a normal teen girl does before she goes to school. At 8:00 her grandfather was honking his horn, for her to come out. It was a tradition since she was in grade1 that he would take her down to the bus. And for ten years he has been doing just that. Her brother Jackson also tagged along as he also went to the same school and was grade 2.

Now I know this story seems a bit dull right now, which is understandable for it was a boring day in reality. So don’t stop reading on account of the lameness of this first section. Willow’s granddad took her and her brother down to the bus that drove up a mere 5 Minutes after they had arrived at their bus stop (which was at the end of their road, for they lived on a farm). The bus was a short one, the ones you see the slow, “special” kids get into and Willow believed that most of the kids on her bus were in fact (excuse the term) RETARDS. She walked onto the bus and her bus driver welcomed her as she did every other day, and then took a seat mid way down the bus( to avoid the wild little kids in the front and a creepy guy in the back named Ben). The bus ride was short and soon enough she was at school ready to learn! (Can you hear the sarcasm in my voice?)

Willow walked into her small rural school with some pride that she went there. Her pride was wasted though for it was a run down old building that the school division had simply forgotten about. The hallway to her locker seemed long, as she passed by the long line up of grade 11 and 12s already at their lockers. When she got to her locker she dropped her red canvas art bag (which she thought was better then a billabong bag any day) to the floor and quickly opened her locker.

From down the hall, Bethany called out-“Hey Will”. Bethany was a flake and tried to hang out with any group that would accept her. Just recently she had died her hair darker to fit in with the emotionals. Willow rolled her eyes and gave a brief “Hi” back and then pretended to be busy with something. She was then greeted by her closest friend Anna. She was a short, dark haired, pale skinned girl. Willow and Anna were quite an odd couple mostly for their size difference. Will was 6’ and Anna was about 5’2’’. They began a short conversation before everyone in the hallway stopped talking and parted down the middle for 4 girls.

They have been described as “so popular”, “beautiful” and “really lucky”. Willow had her own descriptions for them. Unfortunately this is a PG rated story so her descriptions will have to be left out. Their “ring” leader was named Nervanna, and her and Willow were best friends from kindergarten to grade 6. It was then that Will realized what Nervanna really was. A boy chaser. The 2nd in command was Tiffany. Known in the school for being the biggest backstabber the world had ever seen. The last 2 were cousins and acted like little puppies that followed Tiffany and Nervanna every where they went.

Morgan and Katelyn were their names.

Will referred to the group as the four witches (this is a PG rated story so I left out a very important b in one of the words and replaced it with a w, so use your imagination).

Evil is Always Popular

The only reason why they were considered popular is because they have older boyfriends. And in truth Katelyn did not have an older boyfriend so she was excluded from their group sometimes. Morgan’s boyfriend Brendan, Will considered the ugliest man to ever walk the planet and yet he was called one of the hottest guys in the school by almost all the girls. Nervanna’s Boyfriend Billy moved in with her and her family. Finally, Tiffany boyfriend’s name is Dylan, who she recently cheated on with another guy. But somehow that made her cooler and everyone loves her more. As the group of 4 walked past Will’s locker, they turned to her and gave her a fake smile. Will returned the gesture and rolled her eyes. What made them so special? She thought.

Willow started her first 3 periods before lunch. By the time lunch came she was crazed with boredom. Lunch was nothing out of the ordinary, but it always made Will cheerful. Her and Anna walked into the lunch room at the far end of the hallway and then took a seat at the back table. Unfortunately for them this was not the table they usually had. In recent weeks the “group of 4” had bombarded their space with their gossip and boyfriends. So Willow and Anna were forced to sit on another table. Now that I come to think about it, it seems that I am portraying the “group of 4” as evil people when in reality they are the devils daughters, out to suck the blood of anyone too weak to tell them to get off!(thought I was going in a different direction weren’t you?)

Now settled at their seat the two friends were ready to eat their simple, extremely boring lunches. After about 2 minutes they were greeted by the rest of their posse, which included the flake Bethany, Rod and Todd- the jokers of the group, Julia and Vicky the weird, almost mentally retarded part of the group and the rest at the table were the emotionals of the posse. They though are in a whole world by themselves on account of their friend “Mary Jane”. So I’ll leave them out until later. Todd and Julia are going out and have been for quite some time.  Recent events have made it seem that Julia’s affection for Todd was fading fast yet his was rising steady. Willow and Anna both thought of Todd as the best guy in the school, for his attitude and personality was something great. He was a stockier guy, with short brown hair and glasses. (I know what you are thinking, “oh my god this guy is very ugly and Anna and Will should never hang out with a guy like this” but like I said before his personality over powered everything else.) Will often referred to him as NERD because he could solve any computer problem imaginable.

Will had brought her purse to the table and did not realize that it would get a content search by the rest of the table. Todd took out a comb from the bag and started to brush his hair. Will tried to tell him that it was in fact a dog comb which she used for her 4-H Club (which is a club where you work with your pets). Once he had figured what it was he slowly took it off his head then asked if Bethany would like to use it (this was funny at the time because the group refers to her as a dog. The lead characters in the story felt bad about the constant teasing of her, but well she deserved it most of the time). Bethany then had a huge freak out. She started to yell at Todd for the gesture. In the mean time the whole table was laughing at this display of stupidity.

The Mystery of the Shrinking…

After school Will and a bunch of other kids from her school went swimming and bowling at the Aridrie Rec Center. The bus ride there was unbearable for Willow. Even though Aridire is only 45 minutes from the school it seemed like an eternity for her. The reason being, her seat partner. Ben (who I mentioned earlier as the guy in the back of the bus) sat with her. Julia had pointed out to Ben that Will’s seat had only one person in it. Will being too nice of a person to say “no you’re a creeper, screw off” said that it was all cool that Ben sat with her.

The 2 awkward people sat as far a way from each other as possible. Ben tried to make small talk with his seat partner the whole way but her only response was “oh yah” (this phrase should be classified as the international phrase of not listening). Every time that Will looked at his face all she could think of was a greasy frying pan. His face was covered in red and white blotches, some of which were oozing a clear liquid. His body had a resemblance to an Ethiopian boy dieing of starvation. His legs were bowed and he worn tight “bum hugger” jeans.  Finally when the bus was about 5 minutes from its destination, Ben turned to Will and said

“I hope that thing doesn’t happen to me when I get into the pool”

Will looked away, feeling that she was in the most uncomfortable moment in her life.

“It doesn’t usually happen, but it can”

Her heart raced as fast as a bullet, as she hoped that the damn bus would get to its destination.

“Do you know what I mean, well if you don’t understand I guess you won’t ever”

OH GOD KILL ME NOW. She screamed in her head hoping he would actually hear. But the jerk didn’t grant her request. If fact he didn’t even help the situation. Will vowed that she wouldn’t be at church that Sunday. You and I both know the truth of the matter is that she would be at church that Sunday for she was afraid to die and burn in the pits of hell. She is a goodie two shoes. Sorry, back to the #1 story of the year says the NEW YORK TIMES. Just kidding, this story wouldn’t even be published in the local paper. Will’s face had turned a bright red for the embarrassing moment. She turned to look out the window trying to think happy thoughts.

Then finally they made it to the bowling alley. Will later wondered if Ben was talking about “shrinkage”. I do not want to give you night mares so I will leave it at that. The group on the bus went bowling for a couple of hours and then went swimming, which they all found really fun.

Anna had “ditched” (excuse the term) her best friend to go on another trip, which was skiing. She then later blamed Will that she was the one who was ditching. I do not want to get in to it any further for there will be a major cat fight amongst the 2 ladies. Anna also had a great day even though she was far far away from her friends.

Anna’s Day

At 6:10 am Anna rolled over groaned and reluctantly got out of bed. She was so tired considering she stayed up far too late talking to Todd on MSN as usual. However she knew she had to get up today and get a move on to get to school in time for the bus to go on the field trip. She unlike Willow and her other friends, was going to Stronghold and C.O.P, she couldn’t wait. She got to the school just at the time she wanted to: 7:30. She had to give Mr. Shaw a note telling him she and Timothy were going to be picked up by Anna’s mom seeing how they had to go to a 4-H event afterwards. Soon enough Melody walked out through the main doors and joined Anna as they waited for their other two friends Larissa and Veronica.

As it was getting closer to departure time Larissa showed up and joined the other two. Mr. Shaw did a quick attendance then everyone loaded onto the bus. Anna was getting restless for Veronica hadn’t showed up yet. It was 7:48 3 minutes later than what was supposed to be when Veronica ran from the vehicle and got on the bus. Soon after that the bus left and headed for Stronghold.

Once everyone got into Stronghold (this really cool wall climbing place) and changed and was back at the main meeting space they gave a quick demo on how to bale and climb safely. Everyone had to show the instructors twice to show they knew what they were doing then got to do whatever wall they wanted. Anna and Veronica choose a hard one first…it seemed easy on the ground,(they though were naive in the whole situation). While they were setting up for Anna’s climb Larissa was climbing on a relatively easy wall and started complaining how Melody was going to let her fall, she couldn’t do it anymore, and she was scared. Anna felt really bad for Melody cause she was a better baler than Larissa was, she paid attention the whole time. Therefore, after the 4 friends managed to climb a few more walls each they had to pack it up and head for the bus again.

It was a blur in the beginning once at C.O.P for Anna and Veronica…they’re minds were distracted by their growling stomachs. They were just getting their skies when Larissa and Melody came and asked if the two had seen Mr. Shaw or Mr. Potter. Veronica and Anna looked at each other than at their two friends and said in unison “No we haven’t why?”

Larissa replied in a whiny voice “because there are no lessons and I don’t know how to snowboard!” Veronica and Anna shrugged their shoulders and carried on with what they were doing as the other two left to look for the two teachers. As soon as Anna and Veronica got their skis and helmets they rushed to the cafeteria. Opened their lunch and dug their teeth into their sandwiches and other items of their lunches. Soon their stomachs were full and it was time to hit the slopes. They soon found their two friends practicing as best they could on the bunny hill. Then they all met at the bottom of that and Larissa decided she wanted to go on the big hill. (Now remember this is her first time snowboarding and she has no idea what she’s doing.) Therefore, they all agreed got in line for the chairlift and were loading when all of a sudden Melody fell and missed the chair lift she decided to stay down there.

The entire conversation for the whole way up the hill consisted of how the three friends felt bad for what had happened and of coarse Larissa complaining how without Melody she wouldn’t be able to go down and she had no idea what she was doing. The three of them reached the top managed to get off the lift and then well I hate to put you poor people in the misery that Veronica and mostly Anna had to endure. Larissa not knowing what she was doing kept falling every two minutes while complaining how she didn’t know what she was doing. Finally Ann had had enough and skied on ahead for a little bit then stopped hoping the other 2 were close behind, ha-ha what a joke! By now Anna was fed up, she wanted to go so bad but didn’t want to leave Veronica with the stupid little brat (also know as Larissa). She started walking up the hill again to see what was taking so long. Mr. Potter and Mr. Shaw were there too then Veronica skied down to Ann and said that Larissa was just going to slide down on her butt. Relieved Anna went flying down the hill; it was so great to be able to go finally! Then just as Mr. Potter was passing she lost control and fell, lucky she didn’t hurt anything.

So 2 hours later they were all at the bottom of the hill Larissa was getting skies and Anna was venting her frustration to her friends as was Melody only she did it in a more appropriate fashion than Ann. Veronica was stuck in the middle sticking up for Larissa anyways it took Larissa forever to get come back with skies.

For the rest of the time the four friends or should I say 3 friends and some extra baggage went on the other lift, 2 in a chair which worked much better than all 4 of them on one. Melody and Ann stuck together for most of the time Melody fell in a puddle twice while getting off the lift. Ann and Melody collided even though they tried desperately to separate. The second time it happened Melody fell forward Ann thought she was going to but got her balance back. The two of them stood there laughing for what seemed like hours but of course in reality was only a few minutes.

Then at 3:15 it was time to pack in. The four had had such a great time together after Larissa got skies. The three of them left leaving Ann behind waiting for Timothy and her mother. Timothy bought her a slushy and a Kit-Kat bar and they ate while they waited. Then Anna’s mom came then she took the two of them to DQ, then it was off to the 4H event.

Timothy’s legs hurt and they were both exhausted when they arrived at the event. They waited impatiently for the judging clinic to start. After it was done they both raced to Mel’s Café for beef on a bun, yum! They sat talking for awhile and then both took off with their families and went home.

Ann was so tired when she got home but of course it was Thursday night which meant Grey’s Anatomy was on TV so Ann went over to her late grammas place and watched TV. Then went back to her new house (which was recently built and looked fabulous if I do say so myself) and of course got caught up in a conversation with Todd on the computer. She was then falling asleep and that is when she decided it was time to call it a day.

The Dark Day

The day started off as it usually did at Will’s house. Extremely boring. A new radio station had been out on the air, which was all energetic music. This made Will’s morning go by faster. She danced in her room in front of her mirror as she straightened her hair. “Man, I could be on dancing with the stars with these moves” She thought. Her moves though looked like a cross between a drunken monkey and high rhino. No one has told her this yet, in fears that it will hurt her feelings. But for the good of mankind please tell her what she really looks like while dancing.

She finished getting ready and then got on the bus and got to school. She was late this time. The halls were already partly crowded with the dreamless students of the school. She saw Anna waiting for her at her locker; they said their greetings as Will placed her things in her locker. Then like the previous day, the crowd in the hall parted for the “populars”. Will and Anna rolled their eyes at the 4 “bubble heads”. Nervanna caught on to what the two were doing and walked over to them. She said “Hi ladies, don’t I look like so entirely and utterly like so beautiful today”. If only I had a camera and could take a picture of the faces of Will and Anna after Nervanna had said that to them. The only way to describe it was complete disgust. Anna then bent down to pick her binders off the ground, as she rose back up Nervanna pushed the books back to the ground and gave a little laugh. Once the binders had fallen the rings in them popped open and the papers flew over everywhere. Now you and me both know what it feels like to pick up papers in a crowded hallway.

The 4 witches laughed again in unison, then walked away. As they walked they reminded the people standing behind them of an old cow. In the sense of how it walks, with a sort of saunter. Their butt moves from side to side. Now a little off topic but the person who tells Will that her dancing is awful should go on a roll and tell them that their “sexy walk” looks like one a person who stands on a corner might do.

After the binder slap down in the morning, Anna and Will were feeling kind of down about everything and so the day was fairly uneventful until English Class…

At the very end of this exorbitantly boring English class, Nervanna stood up in front of the class holding Ben’s hand. This was very weird for they were of different social standings it was just a big NONO. She then cleared her throat and said

“After much deliberation I have convinced Ben to ask out his only love in this school… Willow

There was a huge roar of laughter from the class.  Nervanna was laughing the hardest. Ben looked hopeful waiting for his reply. Will sunk down into her hard plastic chair. Her face was beat red now. “How dare her! She knows how much he creeps me out. She’ll pay for this.” Will yelled in her head. She walked up in front of the class turned to Ben and Nervanna and said

“Ben your not my type, what you need to be looking for is someone like the girl standing beside you, and besides you are the only person in this school that honestly creeps me out.”

She then brushed against Nervanna’s arm as she walked out the door. Will turned back and gave her old friend a look that looked deep into her soul and burned it. She flicked her hair and walked to the hallway.

The rest of the day till lunch was so excruciating for Will. It dragged on like the last day of classes. You watch the clock tick but for every one tick it seems to take 5 seconds. At lunch she was called upon by one of her basketball team mates to go to a meeting in their coach’s room. Will loved Basketball with a passion. It was her favorite sport to play, also considering her height it also helped her play better. The basketball season though for her seemed like a life time and she dreaded playing games. The reason was that her team mates all disliked her. They each had a best friend on the team with Will having no friends it was sometimes hard to enjoy.

Once Will had made it to her coach’s room (which was the last one in the grade 9 wing) she sat down at a desk and waited for her other team mates to show up. It took 10 minutes for the rest of her team to show up and when they did, Will was really irritated. Which also helped her irritation was that Nervanna and Tiffany were on the team as well. Everyone laughed when they made stupid comments that weren’t even funny- all because they were ‘popular”. It then clued in to Will that her “team mates” were talking about a basketball wind up party that they attended the night before.

Tiffany slyly asked to Will- “Why weren’t you there last night?”

Will’s face went flush. She had not been invited to the party which was extremely hurtful to her.

“I wasn’t invited” she said almost in tears that her own team couldn’t even tell her that they were going to have a party for basketball.

“Yes you were at the meeting we had” the captain of the team said.

Right then their coach walked in and the conversation was broken up. Willow was so furious with her team that she stormed out of the room without saying good bye to anyone (although she hated everyone in the room she wouldn’t of said goodbye even if she was in a good mood).

She walked down the crowded hallway (for it was lunch time), with almost a shame and held her head low. She walked into the lunch room and sat with her friends. She didn’t want them too ask what happened but knew that they would notice that she was upset and then ask.

“What happened?” Anna asked Will, the tone in her voice almost seemed that she knew what had happened.

Will explained the situation to her table of friends. They all gave encouraging feed back to her which helped her feel so much better.  Then there was a moment where Will zoned out from the laughing and talking around her and thought about what had happened in the day. She thought and thought and all this thinking mad her even more upset and angry. It then came to her, a plan so mean and so devious. She would get revenge on all the witches that had hurt her today and she would make them all pay for what they did to her.

Will leaned back in her orange school chair, raised her eyebrow and gave a fierce smirk. Her plan was so perfect and so clever that even she was surprised by it. She would not start with her plan today but tomorrow the pain for her enemies would begin.

“TO THE THRONE OF HOTTNESS!”

After Will’s very eventful day, she came home to see some of her best friends. They were always there for her and were always fun to be around. As Will prepared to go outside to see them her trusty companion, Charley decided to tag along with her.

Charley was an energetic (in most cases he was considered a psychopath), 6 year old German shorthaired pointer. If by chance you don’t have any idea what this type of dog looks like( and if at this point in time you did not know that a pointer was a dog and have been in a fricken cave for 14  years and you live a sheltered life) here’s specimen of one right below.

This picture is definitely not Charley for he is a way nicer animal then this one, but it’s just for a reference point. Will opened the door and stepped out into a rain/snow blizzard with her head down. Charley quickly followed her. This pointer was a loyal dog, one of the most loyal in existence and would follow his masters any where they went. He though regretted coming out, for the sleet felt like a dozens of tiny forks poking away at his thin coat. Charley trudged on though like a soldier, running to the shed Will would be going to next.

Will got to work once inside the shed preparing her friends food rations for the day. The feed was in 6 different bins each marked with what the contents were on the lid. Charley sniffed inside the grungy feed house looking for any mice. He loved to “play” with them. He was unaware though that his idea of playing was in fact the mouse’s idea of “The Paws of Indecency”. Unfortunately there were no mice in the building at that particular moment. Charley trotted out of the stale building and went inside the nearest corral. He looked cautiously around for any “of those giants with big heads”. Once he had decided that they were in the pasture, he quickly ran around the “big red monster” (it was not actually a monster it was in fact a big red barn. It was worn out and seen better days, but it always gave Charley the heebee jeebees for it creaked and leaked and was just plain spooky) and into the goats pen.

Charley had never had a good relationship with the goats in that pen for reasons he did not know. They were forever being mean to him. The four of the pigmy goats ran up to them with then horns pointed at him. He stood his ground and coolly spoke to his farm mates

“Ladies, Ladies lets not begin this again. Time after time you guys have poked and prodded me to no end but today will be the last day… for I am a hunk a muscle and the most gorgeous animal on this farm. You need to bow down to me” his voice got louder now “for I am your king!”

He then proudly shoved out his chest at the goats and put his head to one side.

There was a silence from both parties of creatures for 2 seconds. Then the goats busted out bleating.

The fattest and ugliest of the goats now spoke up and for some reason the goat talked in a thick Irish accent.

“You come out to see us every day claiming that you are a self proclaimed king of hunkness and that we should be your followers, and everyday we give you the same answer. NOT BLOODY LIKELY!!!!

The goats bleated some more in laughter. Charley now got defensive and raised his upper lip to show his teeth.

“One day you will follow me to my throne of hotness and we will make the world a sexier place”

Charley then quickly ran off towards the near by Chicken coop. His confidence was shattered like it was everyday by them. He could not understand why they would not follow him…

Will allowed Charley to go inside the coop. Charley also loved to “play with the chickens” but was always punished for doing this by Will. Life was full of challenges for Charley.

A loud snort came out from inside the chicken house. Fern the pig came to greet Charley.  She was the newest edition to the farm; she had run away from her pig barn and came to be in Will’s farms horse shed. Fern was accepted with open arms by the people and animals alike. Charley warmed up to her the quickest of anyone.

The pig was pink with a docked tail and she was sly and clever far beyond any of the animals on the farm. Pigs are the smartest domesticated animal you know. Fern slowly walked around Charley and said (she had a heavy British accent)

“It’s a shame that them there goats won’t follow yee, for you are very attractive.”

Charley backed up slightly “Whoa! I don’t swing that way, you know, ACROSS SPECIES!”

Fern snorted “Either do I, I was just pointing out a common fact, for you know that I am the smartest one on this farm”

Charley gave a loud scoff and was just about to say a rude remark when Willow called him to get out of the pen. He slowly walked out to her side.  Will gave Charley a good rub down then said “Into the house then?” He gave an energetic bark back and ran towards the house.

Will also came running (for she wanted to get out of the cold) and ran all the way back to the house. She opened up the house door and let Charley and herself in.

A Deal Made

The next day once Willow was at school she started her plan. Before completely doing so she told Anna what she was dong for they were the best of friends and shared everything.

Anna felt awkward about the idea. It was not like Will to think up something this mean. She was in though on the idea and would help her friend until the end.

Willow left Anna and walked towards “the group of 4”. She had changed, she was not wearing her original clothes or had her hair wavy or wore the same type of make-up. She had on tight jeans with a “Roxy” (she hated it the most out of the ensemble) short. Her hair was straitened and her makeup was thick, but all in light colours like pink and purple. In her hand she had a 17 magazine, which was something she hated to even look at, and made it over to Nervanna’s group.  She had studied high fashions all night on the net and was ready to use her information like a deadly weapon. She held out the magazine and said

“I was like totally looking at the pictures in this magazine and I saw that like this really pretty model looked like you, I thought that you might want to know, cause like you know…

“Yah… we already knew that! GOD! Why don’t you just take your Wal-Mart bought clothes and go over to the land of dorks down the hallway.” Tiffany told Will. They all gave a little snicker.

“Well I also noticed that your shoes are so like fall of last year. If I was you I would try to hide them and save you some embarrassment” Will said.

The group besides Tiffany laughed. They had not noticed that her shoes were in fact “old”. It was quite a sight to them. Katelyn looked back to Willow and said

“Wow I’m surprised that a nerd like you actually knew something about stuff, like you know whatever.” All the other girls agreed, even Tiffany.

“Yah I just came over here to see if you ladies wanted like you know have a dance to happen cause like I am on Student Council and could make it happen. What kinda like theme do you guys like, like you know. I was thinking… maybe… like SHOES as our theme! Do you like?”

“OH MY GOD! I’ve been meaning to like ask that group of people that your in if we could have a shoe extra extraordinary dance, but it keeps slipping from my brain thing, like so yah. If you could do that that would be so great and I would invite so many people to come. I Love IT!” Morgan exclaimed out into the hallway, her voice though was almost sarcastic. Willow could not believe how well her plan had worked and they were actually listening to her of all people! The group of 4 really was a bunch of brainless girls that were filled up with cologne lip gloss and spray on tan. Will almost felt remorse for them that they were playing in to it as much as they were, how could you not?

Willow smirked but was then caught off guard as the team of girls all started to giggle.

“Do you honestly think that we are that dumb? We don’t even like you, you creeper. I know that you want to be like us, but trying to do lame tasks for us is not going to make that happen. Sorry you’re not beautiful material”

Will was so thrown back by this that she was speechless. She had to think fast in order to keep them still thinking on the same thought (they were all blondes so expectations are set pretty low for them). Will had come up with an idea. The other girls started to walk away.

“Wait!” She called out, “you’re right I do want to be like you guys, cause you are the most beautiful, prettiest, and smartest, most fashion smart girls in the school and I want to learn how to be those things. (Saying this out loud in the hallway was comparable to if Will had been tied down to a chair and a Baboon’s buttocks was shoved in her face for a whole day.)

The girls stopped and turned around on one heel. They had an evil grin on their faces.

“Sure you can be like our trainee person; it will work out for me because I need to do 10 hours of community service for gym class. I guess I can tell them that I was like helping out a homeless person or something….”

“Introductions to a Second family”

The rest of the day was pure agony with the group of four. They told Will how she should walk (which included the swaying like a cow), how to talk and how to look. At lunch she was about to loose it. It all would be worth it though in the end when Will got her revenge. Luckily for her she was not in very many classes with the witches. It was a nice relief when they were not bugging her. In the last class of the day, which was forestry ( I know what you are thinking, that is probably the lamest class in the history of high school, almost comparable to a Latin class. The dumbest part about that class, Will thought, was that they were in the prairies, where you would be lucky to find 1 tree), she met up with all her real friends.

They all sat together at the back of the classroom. Rod, Julia, Vikki, Todd and Anna were all there. They seemed quite mad that Will had ditched them for lunch but they soon forgot about that and began to act like normal.

Julia and Todd were having a water fight with a water bottle. Will always thought that they were flaunting their relationship to her and Anna ( both had never had a real boyfriend), most of the time the rest of the group ignored what they were doing.  Today was different as everyone got involved in the fight. Water was flying everywhere all over the desks and floor. Good thing that the teacher responsible for that class was off somewhere else doing only god knows what (probably photocopying his butt to pin on the lockers and then blame it on the nearest kid).

As the water flew across the room one of the students of the room decided that they wanted to join in the fun. His name was Cody. Will had a strange suspicion that he was either gay or superman (because not a day went by when he would not wear blue or red).

“Is it raining over here?” Cody said really excited.

“Why are you so excited? It’s not like its raining men!” Todd quickly relayed then burst out laughing.

That was pretty much the highlight of Anna’s and Will’s day. Will came home exhausted from her day of school. It was a Friday, the week had dragged on like Paris Hilton’s 15 minutes of fame.

Will came home on the bus which was a painful hour long. It was all okay though because she considered the riders as her second family. Her bus mates were of course Ben ( god I’m sure that you are really starting to feel bad for Will again) Veronica,  her sister Launa, Will’s brother Jackson, Brad ( a guy she had known since grade 1) and his 2 other brothers, the bus drivers kids were also on, one of which was Will’s friend also since grade 1-Michelle. There were of course a couple more people on the bus but they were pee ons in this story so we will imagine that they are not there for right now.

Will hung out with Michelle until she got off the bus. She had the longest blonde hair and was often referred to as Barbie (and yes her “Ken” will come into play later on in the story). She was smart in school but had NO common sense. The one major flaw that she had was Tiffany. They had known each other since birth and since then Michelle had been friends with her. Tiffany though for her reputation (remember biggest backstabber) couldn’t resist hurting her. Michelle being the dumb blonde that she was though kept forgiving her and so the story goes on.

“My hair is so much shinier than yours Will” Michelle commented. She liked to brag for reasons Will would never know. She didn’t need to, she was a really nice girl but she was so insecure with herself.

Willow ignored her comment and looked the other way.

“Are you excited for grad Will… we are gonna get you so drunk” Michelle pressed on. Michelle’s sister had invited her to her grad because their families were so close. Will decided that she would go to the party. It was really out of character of her, she truly hated crowds and parties.

Her hatred for parties grew from her first dances at her middle school. In grade 6 her school had a Halloween dance and Will dressed all in 70’s clothes. This included a gold chain, black bell bottoms, a velvet shirt and 6 inch heels. The best part of the costume was her black afro. She danced with her friends who at that time were the group of four. She was a foot taller than anyone in the dance due to her natural height and her heels. The boys all laughed at her but she ignored. All the girls in her group got asked to dance but she was left behind during slow songs.  Will felt like a giant coming to crush down a helpless village. Her feet being a size 11 were comparable to Fred Flintstones. She felt that her actions were slowed down due to her largness as if she was Godzilla chasing Mothra down or maybe the power rangers transformer weapon they used.

One thing about the grad party that Will also didn’t like was the drinking. She knew how people change with liquor. She had never drunk and promised herself that she would not drink until she was 18. The only drink she had had was a sip of white wine. That’s right I’ve announced it Willow has never had a drink in her life. She had told all of her friends that she had had liquor but it was all a façade. She believed that there was no point to it, it was just a drink that killed brain cells and torn families apart.

After Michelle was off Will went to go talk with Brad. He was one of the biggest red necks she had ever known. He was though one of the decent guys in the school. He had red hair, always worn a tattered base ball cap autographed by as he put it “smoking hot babes”. Will had suspicion that he had a crush on her for his ever persisting flirting. She returned sometimes back, but most of the time she ignored his persists.

All of her family eventually left the bus and it was just Will, her bother and the bus driver Trish. Will often had her most thought provoking conversations with her bus driver. They were good friends and would do a lot for each other.

“I’m going to do my marathon this Sunday, I’m running though with a one of my daughters on my back” Trish told Will.

There was a confused look on Wills face “are you carrying one?”

“NOOO, I figure my extra fat that I am carrying around equals one of my daughters!”

Will couldn’t help but laugh. Trish joined in too as they reached Willows destination.

Beauty and the Beasts

The next week of Will’s life was filled with the most amount of excitement that she had had in a long time.  Though her days were very long at school with her enemies there were moments of extreme fun. Will worked at the school store on one of the days. Within the store you would expect to find apples, oranges and granola bars but in their place there were burritos, egg rolls, pizza pops, some more burritos, mini pizzas and chimichangas (deep fried burritos). Yep this store was definitely on the top ten healthiest menus in Canada. If you thought I was serious you are going to have to stop smoking whatever your smoking ‘cause it’s making you very dumb.

Will came into the store early to skip out of her dreaded Forestry class. She told her teacher that the plates needed to be organized. She then gave a smile and fluttered her eyelashes and he allowed her to go. This was the same man who would not let anyone drink in his classroom and then would not let us go get a drink in the hallway if we asked.

Sorry, I was getting off topic wasn’t I? I tend to do that, the doctors tell me that there is a worm tunneling its way through my brain, so you can expect some lapses of sense. . . (Scoffs)… (Coughs)… (Bursts out laughing). Nah I don’t really have anything like that, oh off topic, right where was I…Oh right the store.

When Will arrived in the store she found not her usual co-worker, Derek (who by the way is the most boring person Will had ever known. She wanted to go up to him slap him a few times and yell into his face “BE INTERESTING!”) But a grade 11 guy named Jared. He was taller than Willow, not by much but he still was. He had dark hair and matching brown eyes. He had the best sense of humor too as well which was one thing that Will like to have in a guy. If you haven’t already figured it out Willow has a crush on him. He was the only down to earth guy in the school that didn’t look like his mother was this lady…

No offense to this women or anything, she is a… well….. my mom always said if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say it all. Willow was thrilled that the 2 of them were going to be working together for that lunch hour.

Business was good at the store for the half an hour that Will worked. The store closed at 12:30 and after that Will went to find Anna who was most likely in the lunch room.

Low and behold that is exactly where Anna was. She sat down on the opposite side of the table that Anna was at. Also at the table were Julia and Vicky. Anna asked Will if she should be with the group of four but Will told her that the group said that they could only handle doing charity work for 3 of the 5 school days in the week. This was one of their days off. The table went on to talk about their boring forestry class. All of the sudden from the table behind Anna Melody called out “yah I totally hate that teacher, GOD he’s a douche!”

Will was somewhat surprised that she would just budge in like that.  “Stop being a but-in-ski!” she called out to Melody. Mel turned around in her chair and began to eat her sandwich. Willow had a strange feeling that Mel was gay, very gay-not in the happy sense. She never talked about boys and she gave Will this strange feeling when she was around. Will’s group said that her Melody sense was tingling (check out that play on words hey!) when Mel would come around.

The rest of the day was rather boring so I will just imagine as if it was not there…

The next day was track and field at the Zone level. This means that you have to win at divisional’s to move on to this level. Willow had won in her competition. Her competition of choice- Discus. Many people said to her that she should not be in a throwing competition but rather a running event due to her long legs. Will liked her event though; it was different like she was. Not many people liked to do it; they all preferred the track route. Willow, and a guy named Jason (who was the tallest guy at the school, and probably weighed the least amount in the school), and a guy named Jay (a half Mexican boy with, get this blonde hair) were the only people from my school to make it to Zones.

Will’s event was at 1:00 at Yarglac (what an awful name), the big city closest to Blute. She was excused from her school doing activities for the day, thanks to Mr. Shaw and Mr. Wilson.  Her mom, Leea drove her and Will’s sister Olivia into the city at around 11:30, they then got to the track at 12:30.

Willow was extremely nervous, her school was expecting her to make it to provincials, which was a huge accomplishment. This was a lot of her to take on. She almost just wanted to get the stupid event done so that she would not have to stress out about it anymore.

Once out on to the middle of the track where her event would be she found Mr. Shaw and Mr. Wilson waiting for her. The day was extremely cold and you could tell that even their manly physic was getting very cold. The 2 parties said their hellos and then Will signed up for her event. She was last on the list so she had some time to freak out about doing bad. The girls all slowly went up and threw their discuses, each one getting better. The other girls there were what Willow like to call “Beasts”. Their body type was that of the Michelin man, their faces were usually very masculine and more often than not you would see thin mustaches and unibrows forming. They were close in resemblance to the girl who took beaver tranquilizer on the movie DODGEBALL.

Finally it was Will’s turn. Her heart jumped as she got into the ring to throw. She spun around as fast as she could then let go when she thought that she could take no more. It landed about in the same place as the rest of the girls through. She would have to do better than that is she wanted to go to provincials.

Her next two throws were mediocre. She was so upset with herself. Round one was over, now the first 6 farthest throwers would go onto to throw 3 more. The man called out the names in order from 1st to last. Will’s was 2nd from the end. She had almost got eliminated. There was so much stress going on in her mind. ~I need to do good for my school~ this is first for my school, then next for me~

Her next throw was one of her worst. Her two teachers pulled her aside and gave her the pep talk. Directions where coming out all over

-spin low

            -throw high

                        -don’t wind up so fast

                                    -explode on your last rotation

                                                -be confident!

They told her that it was all very easy to remember. Yah right! Will thought. She walked onto the circle and forgot everything that her teachers had told her. She was still not confident but her efforts were still good enough for a nice throw. When she released it, she breathed in; she knew that is was good.  The track officials measured it. It was the farthest throw. Now all she had to do was wait for her last turn just hoping that no one would throw farther than she did. Her wish was not granted. One of the taller girls threw a whole 50 cm farther than she did. Next Will was up and her throw was very shotty. It went a average distance.

All of throws were over. Will was told by her teachers that she had come in second place and that she would be going on to provincials! She was very excited. The officials gave them 6 finalists ribbons and the girls went off in their different directions.

Mr. Wilson and Mr. Shaw were extremely happy that Will had made it to provincials. They were not showing it though. They had to keep up their big man image.
